What I particularly love about Christmas wreaths is that they’re such a seasonal decoration. They really only do get put on display for the festive season. And they’re all the more special for it, don’t you think?
Until fairly recently it was traditional to only get the fairy lights out at Christmas-time too. But nowadays it’s much more common to have strings of lights out all year round. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love fairy lights! I’m over the moon to see them anywhere, anytime – more is more in my book! But maybe they lose a bit of that ol’ Christmas magic when we see them year-round?
Our Christmas wreath, on the other hand, only comes out once a year. We add a couple of sprigs of fresh greenery, ceremoniously tie the ribbon, and hang it on the front door. And just like that, it feels like the festive season has really begun.
Whatever your style, you’re bound to find a Christmas wreath to match. I can’t get over the brilliant range of contemporary wreaths that I found – felt, laser-cut wood, paper, feathers … You name it, some very clever and creative people will have made Christmas wreaths from it.
So if you’re still searching for your ideal Christmas wreath, whether traditional or with a more contemporary twist, here are a few that caught my eye at Not on the High Street. Which is my trusty, go-to online emporium for decorations with a difference. I hope you find a wreath to make your Christmas season special.
