These delicate, intricate and ethereal designs are the work of Sara Phillips, who has been fascinated by the underwater world of the sea and coast from a very early age. After graduating in Textile Design from Central St Martins, and moving to Pembrokeshire where she opened her own studio, she has given full rein to her passion and developed her Seascape Curiosities range of designs, applying them to wallpapers, cushions and lampshades.

Although inspired by the coastline and underwater life, these abstract, organic forms are not at all “sea-sidey” and would look fabulous in any contemporary home. Sara describes them as:
Hand drawn illustrations inspired by fascinating organisms found on wave washed rocks to giant underwater forests where seaweeds become entwined and encapsulated creating beautiful underwater worlds.

In addition to her existing Seascape Curiosities collections, Sarah also takes commissions to create bespoke designs for walls in any setting, and says no space is too large or too small. In addition to designs being hand printed or painted onto the wall, these unique 3D wall coverings, pictured above and below, use paper or fabric to create forests of textural fronds – when a breeze catches them, they dance and sway just like underwater plants moving with the currents.

Hi Kathy
I’m afraid we don’t sell any of the items we feature, so if you click on the link in the article to Sara’s website then she’ll be able to help you with samples and orders. All best, Helen
