Online florist Bloom & Wild have changed the traditional floristy game with their gorgeous flowers that fit through the (average-sized) letterbox – genius idea.
There are two big traditional flower-giving dates coming up. But sending flowers can sometimes be tricky if the recipient is regularly out of the house and not there to receive them. No worries, Bloom & Wild to the rescue.

So if you’re thinking of sending flowers for Valentine’s Day this weekend, and/or Mother’s Day soon after (6th March) then Bloom & Wild Letterbox Flowers could be the perfect solution. They say:
Bloom & Wild Letterbox flower boxes are uniquely designed to fit through almost all UK letterboxes! This means you (or the lucky person you’re sending flowers to) don’t need to be home to wait for your flower delivery.
We developed our bespoke presentation boxes to reflect the beauty of the flowers inside, whilst still protecting every petal. And most importantly of all are the finishing touches, that make every delivery a delight.
I’m dying to try out this Letterbox service – the flowers look quite amazing and it’s hard to believe they came out of such a small box.

And, of course flowers aren’t just for certain days. For flower lovers, getting and giving them doesn’t really need a special occasion so Bloom & Wild’s Letterbox Flowers let you send a convenient, special ‘hello’ anytime at all. If there’s someone you really want to spoil, then send them the 3 Months of Flowers – once a month for three months they’ll get a different fresh flower bouquet straight through their letterbox. What an absolutely gorgeous treat.

If more traditional delivery isn’t a problem (these boxes are larger and won’t fit through a letterbox) then Bloom & Wild also offer Hand-tied bouquets that are arranged by hand and delivered for free the next day. These hand-tied bunches change with the seasons and of course the beauty of professionally hand-tied flowers is that the bouquet is ready to to put straight into a vase.

The Ophelia is probably my favourite of the current selection, as along with the jewel bright colours there’s the added bonus of the lovely scent of stocks and eucalyptus.
Included in the price for Bloom & Wild Letterbox Flowers is first class postage with Royal Mail which, according to Bloom & Wild, will arrive next day in at least 93% of cases, more in urban areas. For Hand-tied Bouquets they use Royal Mail Tracked delivery which gives you the option of adding delivery details (such as leaving with a neighbour) if the recipient is not at home. And if you don’t want to leave it to chance there’s also the option of guaranteed delivery on any of their flowers with DPD courier service for a £5 surcharge.
Update 19.2.16: I said I was dying to try out this great idea, so I sent my Mum the Sofia Letterbox Bouquet (her birthday is on Valentine’s Day) and she was absolutely thrilled with the flowers. She was very impressed by how clever the packaging was – both the extremely rigid box and the way each flower head was wrapped in its own little protective sleeve. And also at how many lovely flowers came out of the box! Despite being one of the busiest times of the year for flowers, my Mum’s box arrived bang on the scheduled day and she’s been enjoying her beautiful flowers hugely ever since – great work Bloom & Wild.
