There’s been a lot of uplifting colour and exuberant pattern catching my eye this week (blatant escapism from more serious matters, I don’t mind admitting). Have a peaceful weekend, and here are my top five colourful, beautiful finds:
1. Graffiti Drips Cushion by Timorous Beasties. A long-time favourite of ours for their anarchic reworkings of traditional patterns and processes, this pattern of neon coloured ink drips is inspired by the psychological Rorschach personality ink blot test.
2. I don’t recall where I spotted this fabulous orange and pink wallpaper but I just had to track it down. It’s one of my top colour combinations and I do so love a good geometric patterned paper – it’s the Luxor Wallpaper by Cole & Sons.
3. The Offcut Stool by Tom Dixon is made from curved and irregular pieces of discarded wood (called wayney edges). In a range of colours, including the vibrant Fluoro orange above, it comes flat packed and is constructed with wooden pegs rather than screws or glue.
4. Bargello needlework is one of my pattern obsessions. This gorgeous handmade lampshade by Swee Mei Lampshades uses a Kaffe Fassett flame stitch inspired fabric, based on a classical bargello design.
5. Versatile washi tape is one of the quickest and easiest ways to express your creativity, and Etsy shop White Daisy Petals has an absolutely huge range of colours and patterns including these lovelies above.
