Despite sounding thoroughly French, Je Vous En Prie – a company specialising in woven silk furnishing fabrics – is based in Surrey and uses British mills and other manufacturers to create its colourful, contemporary textiles and home accessories collections.

Fabienne Lecocq, who is half-English despite, again, the 100% French name, trained in woven textile design and started her career designing handwoven textiles and bespoke fabrics for private clients.  She then went on to team up with interior designer Jerome Barris, and Je Vous En Prie was born.  They didn’t have to wait long for confirmation that this was a winning combination, being awarded Best New Launchpad Product at Pulse London in 2011.

Fabienne starts off by creating her textile designs on the computer, and carefully works these up into woven samples on the handloom in her studio which are then used as the basis for developing large scale production at specialist British textile mills.  Here are a couple of photographs from the JVEP blog showing one of their vibrant fabrics being woven at the silk factory, and then below, one of the finished products.

Cushions and lampshades are available to buy in a range of sizes, but can also be customised to your own requirements; size, colour and design can all be adapted to create your own bespoke items.

Smaller items such as door stoppers, lavender bags, key-rings and a range of limited edition notebooks are also available, perfect gifts for lovers of handmade textiles and luxury fabrics in jewel-bright colours.

Je Vous En Prie continue to work alongside interior designers and private clients to create bespoke fabrics for specific projects, and all of their collection fabrics are available in bespoke colours too.  So if you’d given up on finding the right fabric in exactly the shade you want, then Je Vous En Prie might just be able to help.  jevousenprie.com
