Wow, we’re ending the year on a high with these amazing new wallpapers that have to be my favourite wallcoverings of 2016.
Hopefully you read the piece we previously wrote about the beautiful colourfield works of textile artist and colour consultant Ptolemy Mann (if not, you can find it here). Best known for her brightly coloured, subtly graduated textiles, she’s now turned her textile creations into these stunning wallpaper designs for Welsh-based, family-run wallpaper manufacturer Newmor.
The designs are the latest additions to the Newmor Designer range, and have all been digitally created from hand dyed and woven rugs and fabrics. Some are smooth and focus solely on the transitioning colours, like the full height ombre design ‘Ikat Grade’ above, whilst others reproduce the original tactile surfaces by being printed onto textured base materials.
Each of the 8 designs comes in a range of colourways, and they can all be rescaled, recoloured and printed onto any of Newmor’s extensive range of wallcoverings, including textures, metallics and window films.
Newmor do a lot of work with contract businesses like hotels, and also with interior designers. But there are also domestic projects on their website, and if you had the right space what better way to make a statement than with one of these fabulous, colourful contemporary wallpapers?
In fact, why restrict yourself to just one of these designs? I’m drooling over this contemporary staircase above that showcases the geometric ‘Peak Ikat’ alongside the ‘Ikat Grade’ design again, this time in the Lime and Rose colourway.
Well, that’s enough fantasy decorating for today, there are presents to wrap and mince pies to scoff nibble. We’re signing off now for the Christmas break, and will be back the first week in January.
I wish you and yours a merry, joyful and peaceful Christmas and a very, very happy New Year.
