Once the Christmas decorations and lights have been packed away, leaving rooms looking barer and darker, I always feel the need to have extra candles around the house and these clever nightlight holders cum vases, called Trioglo, by RALLI Design are just the job. Made from white glazed earthenware, their elegant simplicity is a welcome contrast to the glitter of the festive season.
One way up, with tealights in the top, they look like pillar candles – but ones which will never burn down. Flip them over, and they become elegant vases, perfect for winter foliage, berries and blooms. Simple and infinitely versatile, they can be used grouped together, arranged in a row or dotted around individually.
They also stack inside each other for easy storage when not in use – a very neat space-saving idea indeed.
London-based RALLI Design was formed by brother and sister Louis and Sophie Ralli in 2009 after graduating from Central Saint Martins where they specialized in Product and Ceramic Design. Trioglo is part of a range of British made ceramics that they’ve designed to be manufactured by Royal Stafford as part of their collective brand of designers English Eccentrix. The duo describe their ceramics range as follows:
“The products have pure, functional forms with a space-saving element an compliment the quality and durability of the material used.”
