Here’s a real high street style steal – the Conran Ryton lamp from Marks and Spencer.
Designed by Sir Terence Conran, with its marble base and clean, minimal lines the Ryton floor and table lamps will make a real statement, in a supremely understated way (if that makes sense).
Marble continues to be wildly popular for interiors, and you can find it being used for all kinds of furniture and accessories, which means we can now easily add this luxe material to our homes without having to redo the kitchen or bathroom.
Beauty blends with functionality here. As well as looking gorgeous, the heavy marble means that the base can be slim and elegant whilst still providing lots of stability for the lamps. The slender metal stem and shade are painted white, whilst a tiny touch of wood detailing adds warmth and stops the overall look being too clinical.
Its small footprint and short adjustable arm means that the Ryton floor lamp will easily fit into small rooms too, meaning we can have lots of style even if we don’t have lots of space. Or a large budget. Let’s hear it for our high street design heroes.
